It all started in the late 90s during the core of the Early Rave Scene where Roche first discovered his passion for Electronic Dance Music. As time progressed the people were craving something more, something harder and with more energy. A shift of change was introduced when a new sound erupted off the Dutch scene.  A combination of the energy from Hardhouse and the melodic perfection adapted from Trance formed the new generation of EDM music known as Hardstyle.

He remember his first experience truly striking him when he purchased his very first records by Brian NRG as well as DJ Duros classic cocaine MF, which he still played on his mom’s excuse for a Technics turntable.

At the tender age of 15 Roche decided to take on the part as a Hardstyle act and broke the piggy bank to purchase his first real set of decks. He handed out demos to all his high school mates who were initially shocked to be diverted away from the mainstream that was flowing through the ears of the youth. Roche graduated first in his class at the Technics Djmixclub in 2004 and landed his first club spot at Submission on Thursdays in 2005.

From there Roche has been known to rock crowds with his get up and shake your ass style and his big tunes keep the game interesting and refreshing. His reputation is fast growing and is regarded among that of the top Hardstyle DJs in the country.

The reputation behind the name Elemental also involves his diversity in music as he experiments with other genres including uplifting trance and pulsating house sounds, which have been rewarded with public media by the likes of 5fm, SAs number 1 radio station. He also landed a resident spot on Hardstyle.nu that reaches 1000’s of listeners worldwide. Roche has recently been in studio releasing some quality tunes and remixes whilst keeping the fire in the scene with his major events. Overdose Digital discovered Elemental in 2011, a Welsh based record label specializing in Reverse Bass Hardstyle and they binded contracts in February 2011. Elemental became the first South African Hardstyle producer to reach the top 5 in Track It Downs top 100 chart with the smash hit single The Jeffrey. His sound is captivating a worldwide audience, and is clearly distinguishable by his frantic energy and drive he employs.

Elemental promises to have a massive impact for the future of hard-dance in South Africa. His ongoing dedication and hard work only ensures that his dream will grow worldwide in the foreseeable future.

“My aim is to keep the crowd on their toes and to educate them with the freshest sounds, bringing something new to each performance. Once you have ones attention it is seldom lost,” says Roche

• Voted number 1 mix for May 09 on 5fm’s ultimix at 6
• Obtained a diploma in Sound Engineering at Inhouse Records in 2005‚
• Successfully graduated first at TECHNICS DJ MIXCLUB 2004
• Run his own events with massive success incorporating many of SA’s finest djs and producers.
• Elemental is the brains behind the revolutionised event FUSION and promises to bring a new twist to the South African club scene giving roll call to many top SA artists each month.
