You know you had a good time at Synergy Live if you annoyed people by saying, “omw you should’ve been there”.

So I arrived home on Sunday feeling like a pack horse with a bag in one hand, camper chairs hung around me and a t-shirt tan of note! I was barely functioning and ready to pass out on the first piece of furniture I saw. With my weekend memories a bit blurry and aching muscles, I couldn’t even tell the difference between dirt and a tan.

Now having re-grown many brain cells and re-found many memories I invite you to read on and get a little bit excited for what took place on Friday, the 14th of September 2012…

The Assembly had already gathered a considerable crowd by the time I made it into the building. Thankfully it remained comfortable throughout the evening. In my opinion, Assembly stands out from many of the other nightclubs with its band-sized stage that puts the artist at the absolute center of attention, and was perfect for our performing artists.

Friday, 31st August saw Ram Touring present us the Electricity Tour at Assembly , Cape Town. The weather was appropriately Capetonian, but the crowds who braved the gales and rains were rewarded with a night to remember. Assembly brought to us the finest DJ’s by the likes of George Daniel, Das KapitalHyphenLogistics (UK), Sigma(NL), & Bruce Willis.

 The event was kickstarted by George Daniel & Das Kapital , quickly getting the crowd onto the dancefloor using an assortment of dance floor weapons.

Hyphen took the lead. A man with experience, who really seems to sense the crowd, which was clearly seen from the reaction of the people on the dance floor

playing Drum&Bass and mixing in a few unexpected genre’s but the crowd was unstoppable and the heat was up.

Assembly was the place to be on that eventful Friday night, 10th August 2012, and by taking a glance at the flyer and to see who the supporting acts were, you knew that it would be a night filled with electronic goodness!

Diplo was supported by some of the best that South Africa has to offer when it comes to Electronic Dance Music with the likes of White Nite, Sibot and none other than Das Kapital.
